Learning & Impact
Curriculum Overview
Eta College – Kumba delivers the Cameroon Ministry of Education’s curriculum for Forms 1 through 6 in an exciting and innovative way. Students are taught to take responsibility for their own education through self-learning and the natural consequences of applying themselves. If they apply themselves, they will succeed; if they don’t apply themselves, they will not succeed.
Our curriculum is supported by a large library in Kumba, which contains many textbooks for the sciences, mathematics, languages and the arts. In addition, the school has internet capability in their computer lab, a well-stocked science laboratory for experiments and owns a vehicle which can be used for student field trips.
Community Overview
As part of their leadership training, students at Eta College – Kumba, Benesure Campus are required to participate in activities which give back to the community, their town, their country and their world. We have a number of defined programs which students can participate in. Bookshare is one where, using some of our primary readers from our library, the students visit local primary schools and read with younger students.
Scholarships & Student Success Overview
Eta College – Kumba, Benesure Campus offers scholarships to exceptional students across all Forms, with two scholarships per Form from Forms 2 through 6 awarded to the students with the highest averages regardless of gender, while Form 1 (the intake year) awards scholarships to the top 3 contestants in the annual Math and Essay Contest. All scholarships provide a 20,000 franc reduction in the following year’s tuition rather than direct payment to students, supporting academic excellence throughout the school.
